Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist is a group of seven of the most powerful sword wielding ninja that all come from Kirigakure, or the Hidden Village of Mist. Three of the seven members are currently known, and funnily enough all three of those members are all deceased and they were all missing nin. The three ninja that are known to be part of this group are Kisame Hoshigaki, Zabuza Momochi, and Raiga Kurosuki.

[edit] Background

The group was formed as a dedication to the finest sword wielding shinobi from Kirigakure, and hence the name can only have seven members at one time. These members were all known for passing their 'blood filled' exams with ease and all of them were known to have a lust for power, thus why all of them became missing nin. The first to leave the group and to join the group was Kisame, who then left to join the Akatsuki. The second to leave was Zabuza afted failing an attempt to kill the Mizukage, and the last to leave was Raiga, who was first introduced in the series during a filler.

Possible members to this group are the Hozuki brothers, Suigetsu Hozuki and his brother, Mangetsu. They trained for years to become as good sword handlers as the group members they admired and idolized, but their dreams were cut short when Mangetsu died, and of course when Suigetsu was taken hostage by Orochimaru.

[edit] Swords

The most distinguishing feature of all group members and member wannabes were their swords, which were normally too large and extremely heavy. Raiga did not have swords like that, but he did have swords in general. The three known swords that belonged to the members are as follows:

  • SameHada: Otherwise known as Shark Skin, this sword was wielded by Kisame, and would hurt anyone who dared try to use it other than it's true owner. Samehada is the most famous of the three known swords.
  • Decapitating Carving Knife: The sword belonging to Zabuza, this sword was stolen by Suigetsu after the death of the original owner, and it is similar to Samehada in terms of size and weight.
  • Lighting Fangs: These are the twin, dragon fang swords that belong to Raiga. They have special abilities that allow them to draw electricity to them, hence the lightning part of their name.
