Fire Release Techniques

Fire release techniques (Katon no Jutsu, English TV: Fire Style Jutsu) is one of five major elemental ninjutsu in which, as implied by its name, fire is produced. Fire techniques can be used by any ninja granted that he/she's chakra has an affinity for fire. Konohagakure, being a part of the Fire Country, has a majority of ninja who have mastered using fire techniques. The Uchiha clan is particularly well known for producing ninja proficient in the use of fire techniques; the Uchiha crest is a fan, symbolizing the use of a fan to strengthen a flame. Fire techniques are weak against water techniques, but are strengthened by wind techniques.

[edit] Great Fireball Technique

  • Type: C-rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m)
  • Hand Seals: Snake, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger
  • User(s): Uchiha clan ninja, various other Konohagakure ninja

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique (Katon: Gōgakyu no Jutsu, English TV: "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu") is the most common fire technique used by ninja who are able to use fire techniques. After performing the necessary seals, the user inhales a large amount of air, gathering chakra in his/her chest and then spews it out of the mouth, thus creating a giant fireball. The more chakra used in the technique, the bigger and more powerful the fireball is. In the Uchiha clan, one must be able to master this technique to be acknowledged as coming of age, thus earning his/her name as an Uchiha.

[edit] Phoenix Immortal Fire Technique

  • Type: C-rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m)
  • Hand Seals: Rat, Tiger, Dog, Ox, Rabbit, Tiger
  • User(s): Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke Uchiha

Fire Release: Phoenix Immortal Fire Technique (Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu, English TV: "Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu") is another fire technique common to ninja who are able to use fire techniques. The technique is generally meant to be used as a distraction, as the user will spew out several small fireballs in order to create an opening. As Sasuke demonstrated, shurikens can be hidden in the flames for a secondary attack.

[edit] Dragon Fire Technique

Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique (Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu, English TV: "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu") is a technique in which the user breathes a stream of fire along the length of a wire or any other long object.

[edit] Fire Dragon Flame Missile

  • Type: B-rank, Offensive, Short to mid-range (0-10m)
  • Hand Seals: Ram, Horse, Snake, Dragon, Rat, Ox, Tiger
  • User: Hiruzen Sarutobi

Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Missile (Katon: Karyū Endan, English TV: "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bomb")--in this technique the user spews an intense stream of fire from his/her mouth much like that of a blow torch.

[edit] Great Dragon Fire Technique

  • Type: B-rank, Offensive, Supplementary, All Ranges
  • Hand Seals: Snake, Dragon, Rabbit, Tiger
  • User: Sasuke Uchiha

Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique (Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu) is supposedly one of Sasuke's original techniques he developed over the course of the three years he trained with Orochimaru. The technique mirrors the Great Fireball Technique in its preparation and usage, only in this case Sasuke exhales giant dragon shaped fireballs. It appears to consume a significant portion of chakra, as Sasuke had to transform into his second cursed seal form to perform the technique in his final duel with Itachi. Although the technique itself is great offensively, Sasuke also uses it to create thunder clouds by firing at the sky in preparation for his most powerful lightning technique called Kirin.

[edit] Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet

Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet (Katon: Gamayu Endan, English TV "Fire Style: Toad Flame Bomb") is a combination technique in which Gamabunta will spew a stream of oil from his mouth which is then ignited by Jiraiya using the Great Fireball Technique. In Naruto's case since he is incapable of using fire techniques, an exploding tag is used to ignite the oil.
